Fraud Prevention & Transaction Monitoring Policy

Last updated: 2026

1. Purpose

EarnStream maintains controls designed to identify, review and mitigate potentially fraudulent, suspicious or abusive activity involving transactions, affiliates, creators, customers and withdrawals. This policy describes those controls at a high level and how they are applied across the platform.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all activity on the EarnStream platform, including but not limited to:

  • Customer purchases and payment transactions.
  • Creator and affiliate accounts, subscriptions and product listings.
  • Digital product uploads, descriptions, delivery and access.
  • Creator withdrawal requests and payout activity.
  • Customer complaints, refund requests and disputes.

3. Transaction Monitoring

EarnStream uses internal platform records, transaction monitoring functionality, rule-based risk indicators and administrative review procedures to surface activity that may require attention. Examples of activity that may be reviewed include:

  • Unusual or repeated purchasing patterns by the same customer.
  • A burst of transactions within a short time window.
  • High-value transactions relative to typical platform activity.
  • Purchases made through an affiliate's own referral link.
  • Purchases made by a creator of their own product.
  • Incomplete, failed or abandoned payment attempts.

These indicators are used to highlight activity for review. They are not automatic determinations of fraud or wrongdoing.

4. Affiliate Activity Monitoring

Affiliate activity is monitored for unusual or irregular patterns. EarnStream may review activity that appears inconsistent with normal platform use, such as sales concentrated among very few buyers, repeated purchases by the same buyer through a single affiliate link, or other patterns that warrant administrative review.

5. Withdrawal Monitoring

Creator withdrawal requests may be reviewed using transaction history, withdrawal patterns and other relevant account activity. Requests that meet defined review thresholds, or that are associated with accounts showing other risk indicators, may be held for administrative review before approval or payment.

6. Customer Complaints and Disputes

EarnStream records and reviews customer complaints and disputes relating to payments, products, delivery, refunds and affiliate activity. Complaints may be linked to relevant transactions, products or accounts where appropriate, and reviewed by authorized administrators.

7. Product and Delivery Review

EarnStream may review potential inconsistency between the product advertised on a listing and the product or service delivered to the customer. This includes reviewing delivery records, access logs and customer feedback. Such reviews are recorded internally and do not, by themselves, imply wrongdoing.

8. Risk Flags and Investigation

Risk indicators and flags are used to surface activity for investigation. A flagged item does not automatically mean fraud has occurred. Authorized administrators may investigate the activity and, depending on the outcome, may:

  • Clear the activity with no further action.
  • Request additional information from the user.
  • Restrict or hold a transaction, withdrawal or account where appropriate.
  • Suspend relevant activity pending further review.
  • Take other action permitted under EarnStream's Terms and Policies.

9. Administrative Controls

Internal monitoring, investigations, compliance information and related records are restricted to authorized EarnStream administrators. Creators, affiliates and customers do not have access to internal risk flags, investigation notes, audit logs or other confidential monitoring information.

10. Record Keeping and Audit Trail

Relevant administrative actions and investigations may be recorded for internal monitoring, compliance and audit purposes. These records are treated as internal and are not shared publicly.

11. Policy Review

EarnStream periodically reviews the controls described in this policy and may update them as platform activity, risks and business requirements evolve. Updates will be reflected in the published version of this policy.
